Description For Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role is crucial in maintaining the physical infrastructure of AWS's global data centers, ensuring 24/7 operational excellence. The position involves managing critical facilities, focusing on safety, security, availability, and efficiency.

As a DCEO Engineer, you'll be responsible for the maintenance and operation of vital systems including switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment. You'll work on a rotating shift pattern, handling both routine maintenance and emergency services. Responsibilities For Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

  • Manage and maintain critical systems including switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling systems
  • Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling
  • On-site management of contractors and vendors
  • Generate change management requests & incident management tickets
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, and facility management
  • Provide operational readings and key performance indicators
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Collaborate with data center IT managers on day-to-day operations

Requirements For Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • Ability to work in 24/7 rotating shift pattern
  • Technical understanding of electrical/mechanical systems
