AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
As a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer, you will:
- Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern
- Manage routine maintenance and emergency service of critical systems (switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, etc.)
- Install new rack capacity and provision power/cooling
- Manage on-site contractors and vendors
- Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports on facility infrastructure operations
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets
- Collaborate with data center IT managers and business leaders
- Drive projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs
- Performing rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management
- Providing operational readings and key performance indicators
- Overseeing maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
The role requires:
- Ability to work in 12-hour rotating shifts
- Physical capabilities for bending, lifting, and climbing ladders
- On-call availability for 24/7 support
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle
