AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're responsible for keeping the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The Data Center Community is seeking an exceptional individual with proven leadership and management skills to support data center operations in the London region.
As a Data Center Operations Cluster Manager, you will:
- Lead a large organization, including Data Centre Operations Managers and their teams
- Be responsible for data center infrastructure and operational availability of network and server systems at scale
- Manage 3-9 front-line supervisors and 40-80 DCO Techs within Regional Data Centers
- Drive attainment of organizational performance goals related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
- Be accountable for meeting and exceeding operational goals
- Engage in strategic planning and forecasting
- Focus on team learning and development, both technical and soft skills
- Develop and share operational best practices globally
- Plan and execute Infrastructure Operations for new AWS data center build-outs and expansions
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools
The ideal candidate will understand data center IT infrastructure and AWS, think and act globally, and be passionate about Customer Experience and operational excellence.
Key Qualifications:
- Several years of management experience in operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution
- Experience implementing LEAN/Six Sigma methodology
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, test equipment, and cabling infrastructure best practices
- Experience managing large-scale distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in safety, security, and availability incident response and management
- LEAN Certification/Belts
- PMP/PMI certification
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams in mission-critical environments
