Description For Data Engineer

Amazon's Payments Team is seeking a Data Engineer to join their dynamic environment managing billions of transactions and petabytes of data. This role sits at the intersection of e-commerce and data analytics, working with one of the world's largest data warehouse environments. You'll be part of a team that manages all Amazon branded payment offerings globally, using data-driven decision-making to provide superior value to customers.

As a Data Engineer, you'll work with high-caliber software developers, data scientists, and product managers to leverage Amazon's vast information resources. You'll build analytical solutions that address complex business questions, implementing fault-tolerant, self-healing data flow solutions using cutting-edge technologies including AWS services like EMR, Lambda, Kinesis, and Spectrum.

You'll be extracting and analyzing both structured and unstructured data from various sources, ensuring high data availability and low latency.

This position requires someone who thrives in a self-directed environment, has excellent communication skills, and can partner effectively with business stakeholders. You'll own customer relationships regarding data, handle documentation, and provide user training. The role offers competitive compensation based on location and experience, ranging from $118,900 to $205,600 per year, plus additional benefits and potential equity.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL skills, and expertise in modern programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
