Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Last Mile team is seeking a Data Engineer to build cutting-edge data and reporting solutions. This role focuses on managing the delivery of millions of products weekly to Amazon's customers, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery. The position involves building and managing real-time data pipelines, maintaining reporting infrastructures, and developing automation solutions using AWS for the growing Amazon Logistics business in Japan.

The ideal candidate will work on extracting, transforming, loading, and visualizing critical data to improve existing pipeline latency and accuracy. Responsibilities For Data Engineer 2026, LMEA Science

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of last mile data sets
  • Manipulate/mine data from database tables (Redshift, Apache Spark SQL)
  • Conduct deep dive investigations into issues related to incorrect and missing data
  • Identify and adopt best practices in developing data pipelines and tables
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and data processes in AMZL
  • Work with in-house scientists, global supply chain, transportation and logistics teams
  • Identify ways to automate complex processes through AWS

Requirements For Data Engineer 2026, LMEA Science

Python
PostgreSQL
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information systems, computer science or related technical discipline
  • Experience in data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and transformation of large scale data sources
  • Experience in Python programming
  • Business proficiency in both English and Japanese
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment
  • Familiarity with AWS or strong interest to learn (Glue, Lambda, Fargate, etc.)
