Description For Data Engineer, Amazon Customer Service

Amazon's Worldwide Defect Elimination (WWDE) team is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Voice of Customer (VoC) team. This role is crucial in building Amazon's flagship suite of VoC products that connect internal employees with customer experience data and insights.

The team leverages sophisticated machine learning models and generative AI to transform billions of customer interactions into actionable CX opportunities. Their applications provide intuitive search and visualization capabilities for users to analyze these opportunities and monitor CX health.

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Partner with Software Developers, BI Engineers, Scientists, and Program Managers
  • Develop scalable data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data
  • Oversee existing pipelines and develop new ones for ML applications
  • Work with big data technologies including Spark/Hive, Redshift, EMR, and AWS services

The team has an exciting 2025 roadmap focused on:

  • Centralizing customer-reported issues with automated ML-based root-cause detection
  • Expanding GenAI capabilities for automated defect detection
  • Enhancing customer feedback coverage with multi-modal support
  • Improving VoC mechanism observability across tools
