Description For Data Engineer, Customer Engagement Technology

Amazon's Customer Engagement Technology (CET) department is seeking a Data Engineer to build the data infrastructure supporting experimentation and analytics in Customer Service. This role is crucial in enabling Amazon's worldwide Customer Service organization through data-driven solutions. The position combines strategic data advisory, platform architecture, and technical leadership responsibilities.

As a Data Engineer, you'll work with product and technical stakeholders to design and implement scalable data solutions that support various use cases from basic analytics to GenAI applications. You'll be responsible for architecting data pipelines for both real-time and batch processing needs, while ensuring adherence to security, governance, and compliance requirements.

The role sits within a team focused on contact flows and self-service automation, managing customer contacts and ensuring efficient issue resolution. You'll be working on foundational technologies to capture and persist contact flow decisions and experience scores, directly impacting Amazon's customer service quality.

Requirements For Data Engineer, Customer Engagement Technology

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
