Description For Data Engineer, Geospatial, Kuiper Ground Infrastructure Services, Geospatial Team

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Data Engineer on the ground infrastructure services team, you'll be at the forefront of developing scalable data pipelines, APIs, and tools that process geospatial data to guide critical network deployment decisions. Your work will directly impact where and how ground infrastructure is deployed to maximize coverage for underserved communities globally.

The role involves working with a collaborative team of geospatial experts to transform complex spatial data into actionable insights. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, developing APIs, optimizing spatial databases, and building visualization tools. Your solutions will be crucial in determining optimal locations for ground stations and planning network deployment.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $118,900 to $205,600 per year, depending on location and experience. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, financial, and other benefits, along with potential equity and sign-on payments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled data engineer passionate about making a global impact through technology. You'll be working with cutting-edge geospatial technologies and big data tools while contributing to a mission that aims to bring connectivity to millions of people worldwide.

Note: Due to export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.
