Amazon Music is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Metrics and Data Platform team. This role is crucial in enabling Amazon Music's data-driven decision making by managing behavioral and operational metrics. The position involves working with a scalable data platform supporting Amazon Music's growth, collaborating with various teams to accelerate data-driven innovation.
As a Data Engineer, you'll drive engineering and operational projects, work with Product teams to address customer pain points, and implement solutions for key business datasets. You'll be responsible for modeling and building extensible datasets used by over 50 internal customers, directly informing leadership decisions on customer engagement, determining music label payments, and driving product improvements.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented data engineer with strong SQL skills and familiarity with data modeling concepts. You should value data-driven decision making, write clear documentation, and enjoy collaborative problem-solving. Responsibilities For Data Engineer I, Amazon Music
- Writing high quality code/SQL and reviewing code/SQL across the team
- Ensuring timely delivery of assigned projects by proactively identifying risks and removing blockers
- Ability to dive deep, diagnose, and root cause bugs, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies
- Collaborating with product managers and software engineers/managers
- Clearly communicating project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements For Data Engineer I, Amazon Music
- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (Python, KornShell)
- Experience with SQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
