Data Engineer II, Amazon Last Mile

As part of the Last Mile Science & Technology organization at Amazon, you'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to enhance Amazon's Last Mile delivery network. Your role will involve leveraging data and analytics to generate insights that improve the scale, efficiency, and quality of routes for drivers through end-to-end last mile planning systems.

You will be responsible for developing complex data engineering solutions using AWS technology stack, including S3, Glue, IAM, Redshift, and Athena. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience working with large datasets, building complex data processes, performance tuning, and programmatically identifying patterns across disparate data stores.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and supporting data warehouse / data lake infrastructure using AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, Quicksight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark/Scala, and Athena.
• Extracting large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources and constructing complex analyses.
• Developing and managing ETLs to source data from various systems and create unified data models for analytics and reporting.
• Performing detailed source-system analysis, source-to-target data analysis, and transformation analysis.
• Participating in the full development cycle for ETL: design, implementation, validation, documentation, and maintenance.
• Driving programs and mentoring resources to build scalable solutions aligning with the team's long-term strategy.
