Description For Data Engineer II, Data Science & Analytics

AWS Hardware Engineering is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their Data Science and Analytics team. As a Data Engineer II, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and lead data engineering initiatives
  • Build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective
  • Design, implement, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics and data science
  • Implement data ingestion routines using best practices in data modeling and ETL/ELT processes
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to create efficient algorithms and adopt best practices
  • Work on improving reporting and analysis processes, automating self-service modeling

You'll be part of the AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) organization, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging problems with global impact, collaborating with diverse teams across AWS.

Requirements For Data Engineer II, Data Science & Analytics

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience
  • 2+ years of data engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, data warehouse technical architecture
  • 2+ years of experience writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large data sets
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting languages like Python
