Join Amazon's Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST) team as a Data Engineer II, where you'll play a crucial role in developing technology that redefines customer experience within Global Engineering Services (GES). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global team innovating the CX for Amazon's building network growth.

The GEIST organization supports a vast portfolio of buildings within the Amazon network and build-out standards and designs. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data platform for GES business, working with AWS bigdata stack, including Python, Redshift, QuickSight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark, and Athena.

As a key member of the team, you'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Technical Program teams to develop forward-looking architecture and build strategies aligned with the GEIST vision. The role offers the freedom to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of customers.

The GEIST team serves as the software solution team for all Global Engineering needs, working with customers to set consolidated Tech strategy and prioritize investments. You'll be part of maintaining a large product suite ranging from Planning & Forecasting applications to robust in-flight management systems used by thousands of internal and external users globally.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer II, Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST)

  • Design, implement, and support data warehouse/data lake infrastructure using AWS bigdata stack
  • Develop and manage ETLs to source data from various systems
  • Create unified data model for analytics and reporting
  • Creation and support of real-time data pipelines
  • Research latest big data technologies
  • Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically
  • Partner/collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results

Requirements For Data Engineer II, Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST)

Python
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Bachelor's degree
