Data Engineer, Payfort

Amazon Payment Services (APS) is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team in building the next generation of online payment systems. APS is a leading payment service provider in the MENA region, operating across 8 countries and serving thousands of merchants. The role involves working with systems that process payments for over 100 million customers, handling tens of billions of dollars annually with high accuracy, speed, and mission-critical availability.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation in payment solutions, working on systems that support multiple countries and payment methods. The team is responsible for developing robust payment solutions that drive the best payment experience both on and off Amazon. This includes supporting various payment features such as currency choice, in-store payments, pay on delivery, credit and debit card payments, seller disbursements, and gift cards.

The ideal candidate will focus on managing data requests, maintaining operational excellence, and enhancing core infrastructure. You'll work with both technical and non-technical teams to design and execute roadmaps. Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR, as well as ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, or Datastage, would be highly valuable.
