Data Engineer, Payfort

Amazon Payment Services (APS) is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team in building the next generation of online payment systems. APS is a leading payment service provider in the MENA region, operating across 8 countries and serving thousands of merchants. The role involves working with systems that process payments for over 100 million customers, handling tens of billions of dollars annually with high accuracy, speed, and availability.

As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of innovation in payment solutions, working on systems that support multiple countries and payment methods. The role encompasses various payment functionalities including currency choice, in-store payments, pay on delivery, credit and debit card payments, seller disbursements, and gift cards.

The position requires strong technical skills in data engineering, particularly in SQL and scripting languages. You'll be working with various query languages and data modeling tools, while maintaining operational excellence and enhancing core infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have experience with ETL pipelines and data warehousing, with preferred knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
