Amazon's Workforce Solutions – Employee Engagement Solutions (EES) team is seeking a Data Engineer to support the HR needs of Amazon's largest retail organization. This role is crucial in improving associate experience and driving hiring, engagement, and retention strategies.
The position involves building large-scale, near real-time data platforms, metrics, and models that generate actionable insights for Amazon's core retail HR operations. You'll work with various AWS services, including Lambda, Glue, Lake Formation, CloudWatch, API gateway, EMR, Redshift, and DynamoDB, to create efficient, scalable data solutions.
As part of the Employee Engagement Solutions team, you'll support products like Thrive, Engage, Gather, and Conversation Hub. Your stakeholders will include FC HR, data scientists, economists, software development teams, and product managers. The role requires combining AWS capabilities with internal ETL tools, optimized SQL, and scripting languages to serve worldwide HR operations.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL services with high availability (>99.5% SLAs) and maintaining strong data quality. You'll need to work cross-functionally within the WS organization and maintain deep knowledge of data domains to build foundational datasets.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $91,200 to $185,000 per year based on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, financial, and potential equity compensation.
