Description For Data Scientist

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a Data Scientist in the Annapurna System team within AWS UC, you will:

  • Analyze massive data sets of technical and business data
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Define and implement measurement metrics
  • Build models to predict issues and optimize operational-service
  • Work with various stakeholders to drive gradual improvements
  • Extract and mine information from existing systems
  • Create new analyses and build analytical products
  • Drive BIE-related observations and mindset to technical domains
  • Define tools, methodology, and goals as a domain expert
  • Interface with various engineering teams related to hardware, software, infrastructure, and services
  • Lead analysis, drive tools/projects, propose improvements, and monitor results
  • Implement efficient, systematic, automated, scaling analytical tools
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that encourages collaborative and creative problem solving

Requirements For Data Scientist

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant technical field (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years' experience as a BIE/Data scientist
  • Master in SQL
  • Basic skills in scripting: Python / Bash, etc.
  • ETL – Extraction, transformation, and loading of data
  • Self-learning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Design/definition of KPIs
