Description For Device Software Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of 3,236 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, aimed at providing high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Device Software Engineer on the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team, you'll be at the forefront of developing embedded software for satellite and ground systems.

The role combines cutting-edge space technology with critical government initiatives, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of space-based communication systems. You'll work on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms, developing secure and high-performance solutions with minimal legacy constraints. The position requires expertise in embedded systems, working with technologies like Embedded Linux, RTOS, and low-level hardware interfaces.

This is a security-sensitive position requiring a TS/SCI clearance, working on solutions for U.S. and allied government customers. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team at KGS, collaborating closely with hardware and systems teams to deliver mission-critical applications. The role offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to work on technology that will help bridge the digital divide globally.

The position is based in either Northridge, CA, or Redmond, WA, with full relocation support provided. This is an in-person role requiring 5 days per week onsite presence. You'll be joining a team that values innovation, security, and technical excellence, with opportunities to mentor others and influence the architecture of next-generation space communication systems.
