Join Amazon's Fulfillment Technology & Robotics (FTR) organization as a DevOps Engineer, where you'll be part of Amazon's incredible growth story. As a member of Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) team, you'll work on building and maintaining world-class Warehouse Management Systems that help fulfill millions of orders daily. This role combines software development, infrastructure management, and automation, working with AWS Cloud technologies including Lambda, Fargate, ECS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, S3, and EventBridge.

You'll be part of a smart team of doers who work passionately to apply advances in innovative technology to solve real-world challenges. The role requires collaboration with over 100 core engineering teams across multiple locations, focusing on enhancing system availability, resiliency, and security. You'll be responsible for developing automation solutions, troubleshooting production issues, and building scalable solutions that meet high standards for operational excellence.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work independently under pressure. You'll be part of Amazon's Platform Engineering and Services team, which leverages data, process improvement, and innovative technologies to provide comprehensive engineering excellence across AFT's product portfolios.

Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer, AFT

  • Enhance the availability, resiliency, and security of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Collaborate with core engineering teams across multiple locations
  • Develop automation for recurring manual infrastructure-related tasks
  • Implement software upgrades and AWS region creation/migration
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues
  • Develop monitoring solutions
  • Perform software maintenance and configuration
  • Build and develop tools to automate manual business and operational processes
  • Ensure services and systems meet high standards for operational excellence

Requirements For DevOps Engineer, AFT

Python
Java
Linux
  • 1+ years of software development, or 1+ years of technical support experience
  • Experience scripting in modern program languages
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development (preferred)
  • Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID (preferred)
  • Experience scripting in one or more language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby) (preferred)
