AWS is launching its groundbreaking European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), a significant milestone in utility computing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join AWS Managed Operations team, where you'll be instrumental in building and leading operations for high-availability AWS services including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, specifically for EU customers.

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of the ESC launch in 2025, collaborating with global AWS teams to shape the future of AWS services. Your daily responsibilities will involve working with technology leaders, enhancing operations, and ensuring optimal service performance metrics. The position includes on-call rotations and focuses on delivering scalable, highly available services for EU customers.

Responsibilities For DevOps Engineer, ESC Managed Operations

  • Oversee the launch of European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025
  • Work with global AWS teams to influence service and technology evolution
  • Ensure improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident resolution
  • Review operational health of services
  • Identify anomalies and create bug reports
  • Provide feedback on change management documents
  • Develop and test scripts for workflow enhancement
  • Educate service teams about European Sovereign Cloud
