Description For Digital Design Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a Digital Design Engineer, you'll join a high-performance ASIC design team developing proprietary IP's for satellite communications. This role offers a unique opportunity to define wireless solutions with minimal legacy constraints, working on cutting-edge satellite communication technology.

You'll be responsible for implementing wireless system architecture in silicon, from system specifications through to chip-level validation. The position involves working with customer requirements and wireless system teams to define modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions using the latest CMOS technologies. Responsibilities For Digital Design Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Implement wireless system architecture in silicon from system specification to chip specification
  • Develop solutions optimizing customer experience while meeting power and cost constraints
  • Create standalone verification test bench to verify block correctness
  • Work with verification team on System level verification using UVM, System C and DPI-C
  • Ensure block meets DFT, timing and power targets
  • Drive trade-off analysis for customer experience and resource optimization
  • Engage with architects and system engineers to drive hardware micro-architecture
  • Involve in control plane logic design and interfaces to bus fabrics
  • Explore and propose innovative ideas for modem optimization

Requirements For Digital Design Engineer, Project Kuiper

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Communications Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in digital logic design, preferably in DSP or communication systems
  • Ability to convert DSP algorithms into RTL code and optimize for performance, power, and area
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
