AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to join their Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team. This role is crucial in managing construction activities within operational data centers globally. The position involves overseeing critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize space, power, and cooling utilization. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical resource, managing projects across electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural disciplines.

The role requires both independent work and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, focusing on improving electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems. You'll be responsible for project oversight, design review, and implementation of innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This position includes 30% travel across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities For Electrical/Mechanical Project Manager - Data Center, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)

  • Project management and oversight of construction related activities
  • Ownership of project scope, timeline, and budget
  • Provide project management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency
  • Electrical design and review of designs for data center optimization
  • Construction/project package drawing review
  • Creation of project scope, request for proposals, and capital requests
  • Total project quality including commissioning plan creation and execution oversight
  • Recording and reporting key metrics
  • Operational support including review of procedures and maintenance initiatives
  • Drive teams in troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis
  • Work with contractors and vendors
  • 30% travel across the EMEA region

Requirements For Electrical/Mechanical Project Manager - Data Center, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)

Linux
  • 3+ years experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • 5+ years experience in the technical field of power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems
  • Bachelor in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar Technical focus
  • Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
