Description For ELM Project Manager, DBX (Design and Building Excellence)

Amazon's Global Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is seeking an Early Life-cycle Manager (ELM) to strengthen their Base Building Qualification processes. This role is integral to Amazon's mission of being Earth's most customer-centric company. The position involves managing construction phases, building equipment installation, and data analysis for root cause identification to improve launches and retrofits across Europe. The ELM Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, leading quality inspections, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives. With up to 40% travel required, the role offers an opportunity to impact Amazon's facility reliability and maintainability from Day 1. The position requires 5+ years of relevant engineering experience and offers comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, 401(k), and parental leave. Responsibilities For ELM Project Manager, DBX (Design and Building Excellence)

  • Manage projects and initiatives, provide progress reports and KPIs
  • Lead installation and operation quality inspections and equipment commissioning
  • Lead RME input for development of Building templates specification
  • Lead continuous improvement for all new buildings
  • Support construction and launch execution teams
  • Integrate RME policies and deliverables into launch plans
  • Capture lessons-learned and develop/execute action plans
  • Specify and coordinate standards for new equipment
  • Understand anticipated life cycle cost based on initial design

Requirements For ELM Project Manager, DBX (Design and Building Excellence)

  • 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level (preferred)
  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors (preferred)
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing (preferred)
  • Up to 40% travel requirement both domestic and internationally
