Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join their innovative team working on next-generation sensor and compute technology in robotics. This role combines cutting-edge technology with real-world applications in Amazon's fulfillment network. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in embedded systems and sensors, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics, AI, and edge computing. You'll be responsible for researching and implementing emerging sensor technologies, working with 2D & 3D sensors, and developing embedded systems that enable AI applications. The role involves close collaboration with hardware, software, and operations teams, as well as external partners.

Key technical areas include embedded Linux, device drivers, sensor integration (including cameras, radar, and lidar), and embedded software development. The position requires strong programming skills, particularly in C/C++, with Python knowledge being advantageous. You'll be involved in the complete development cycle from design to deployment.

Responsibilities For Embedded Software Development Engineer - Sensor & Compute, Amazon Robotics (AR)

  • Research emerging sensor technologies and evaluate potential applications in Amazon fulfillment network
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, test and operations teams and third party suppliers
  • Define system requirements, write specifications, and create test plans
  • Design and develop embedded systems to enable Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Edge Computing
  • Advise internal teams on sensing & compute solution design and integration
  • Support product release to manufacturing and customer deployment

Requirements For Embedded Software Development Engineer - Sensor & Compute, Amazon Robotics (AR)

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • High level of proficiency with C/C++
  • 3+ years experience of direct hands-on full embedded software development cycle
