Description For Embedded Software Engineer, Simulation Foundations

Project Kuiper, an ambitious Amazon initiative, is seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join their mission of bringing global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). This role presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology while making a meaningful impact on global connectivity.

As an Embedded Software Engineer in the Simulation Foundations team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing distributed systems that enable Kuiper to operate within realistic virtual environments at scale. You'll leverage the latest AWS technologies and industry-best software engineering practices to build robust solutions for satellite communications.

The role combines embedded systems expertise with cloud computing, requiring strong knowledge of ARM processors, networking protocols, and real-time operating systems. You'll be responsible for developing critical testing tools, implementing cloud-based services, and ensuring high-quality software deployment for satellite operations.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, working with cutting-edge technology in space communications while contributing to a mission that aims to bridge the digital divide globally. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and help shape the future of satellite broadband technology.

The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage. This role requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency due to export control requirements.

Join Project Kuiper to be part of a team that's building the next generation of satellite communication technology while making a significant impact on global internet accessibility. Your work will directly contribute to providing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.
