Description For EMEA Commissioning Engineer, EMEA Commissioning Team

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their team in EMEA. As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you'll be part of a creative and efficient team responsible for building and supporting AWS-owned data centers, Hybrid Colos, Single Tenant Colos, and Multi-Tenant Colo builds. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting vendors, contractors, and teams in construction and commissioning of various systems (power, HVAC, BMS, etc.)
  • Providing multi-discipline input for scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning projects
  • Reviewing component submittal packages and leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Performing system level and integrated system testing
  • Auditing activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Comprehensive weekly reporting on project status and lessons learned

The role requires extensive travel (50%+) and involves working with critical infrastructure systems. You'll be part of the AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx), an independent business within the DCGS organization, focused on ensuring rapid delivery of quality products while maintaining transparency and identifying improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities For EMEA Commissioning Engineer, EMEA Commissioning Team

  • Support vendors, contractors, and teams in construction and commissioning of various systems
  • Provide multi-discipline input for scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning projects
  • Review component submittal packages and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Perform system level and integrated system testing
  • Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on project status and lessons learned
  • Cover multiple in-flight projects

Requirements For EMEA Commissioning Engineer, EMEA Commissioning Team

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in mission critical facilities or data center infrastructure
  • 3+ years of commissioning experience
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning specific education courses
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (50%+)
  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits (reimbursed)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in high-stress environments
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
