AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're seeking a self-starter and results-oriented individual to join the AWS Energy team within AWS Infrastructure Services. This role will pioneer the future for data center utility power by developing and executing the strategy for delivering energy projects and partnering with electric utilities and energy companies across the Pacific Northwest region of the US.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple, large-scale (100+ MW) and technically complex power infrastructure projects across multiple geographies
- Defining end-to-end strategy for scaling and operating AWS' diverse, low-cost energy supply
- Exploring and discovering new supply opportunities that deliver both near-term capacity and an accelerated path to net-zero carbon supply
- Reporting status, risks, mitigations, and successes to C-level and VP-level leadership
- Managing utility interactions and coordinating efforts between real estate, engineering, and planning teams
- Negotiating and executing power supply contracts across AWS regions
- Creating innovative supply structures that integrate renewable energy portfolio
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong energy background with experience in regulated electric utilities, especially in WECC and PNW region
- Proven track record of developing and delivering innovative energy projects
- Experience in medium and high voltage power infrastructure development
- Ability to think strategically about business, operations, and technical challenges
- Skill in driving tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, and initiatives
- Experience in managing capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects
This role may require some domestic travel (less than 20%) and offers a base pay range of $114,400 to $197,700 per year, depending on the geographic market.
