Description For Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of Amazon's cloud operations, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This role within the AWS Energy Team is crucial for supporting AWS's infrastructure expansion through managing energy projects with electric utilities and energy companies across AWS regions. The position requires managing multiple large-scale power infrastructure projects across different geographies in AMER East, working with utilities, EPC vendors, and engineering teams to deliver electric infrastructure for AWS data centers.

The role demands a strong energy background with experience in developing and delivering innovative energy projects, particularly working with regulated electric utilities on medium and high voltage power infrastructure. The successful candidate will balance strategic thinking about business, operations, and technical challenges while driving tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, and team goals.

Responsibilities For Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

  • Manage multiple Utilities, EPC and Owner's Engineers to deliver medium and high voltage power infrastructure projects
  • Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on energy project implementation
  • Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects related to energy infrastructure
  • Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines
  • Support AWS's infrastructure expansion by leading energy projects

Requirements For Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Business or technical field, or 4+ years relevant experience
  • 5+ years experience working in utility/energy industry in commercial/business development or technical role
  • 2+ years experience developing and delivering Medium Voltage and High Voltage electric infrastructure projects
  • 2+ years experience reviewing energy projects and contracts with utilities and contractors
  • 2+ years experience collaborating with external stakeholders to drive projects
