Description For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud computing portfolio running. As an Engineering Operations Technician II, you'll be part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team maintaining critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers. You'll work alongside front-line responders, collaborating with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers.

The role involves hands-on work with data center infrastructure, including rack installations, maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, and ensuring 99.999% uptime. You'll drive innovation while managing contractors and maintaining critical systems. The position requires technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll work in various environments performing tasks from basic maintenance to complex troubleshooting.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical industry
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling
