As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll work with front-line responders supporting critical infrastructure systems that power AWS's global operations. The Data Center Engineering Operations team ensures our facilities are prepared for any situation, maintaining the highest standards of uptime and reliability.

Your responsibilities will span from hands-on technical work to project management. You'll perform crucial tasks like rack installations, facility management, and infrastructure maintenance while ensuring 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio. The role requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll be working with sophisticated equipment and performing various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors and vendors
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Work in rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call duties

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in relevant industry
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Physical capabilities: walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crawling
