Description For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the cloud running worldwide. As an Engineering Operations Technician II (EOT), you'll be part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers.

You'll work alongside front-line responders, collaborating with diverse teams of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts. Your role is crucial in maintaining AWS's global infrastructure, ensuring 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Work in rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical industry
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds
  • Physical ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs
