Description For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud computing portfolio running. As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team maintaining critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers.

You'll work alongside software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. The role involves hands-on work with facility and rack-level systems, requiring both technical expertise and physical capabilities.

The position offers unique opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology while contributing to the operation of AWS's global infrastructure. You'll be responsible for maintaining critical systems that ensure 99.999% uptime, performing essential maintenance, and managing on-site contractors and vendors.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Perform maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Ensure safety procedures adherence
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% up-time

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engg Ops

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years' of equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical industry
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work in shifts up to 12-hours that may rotate on predefined schedule
