Description For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations

Join AWS's Data Center Engineering Operations team as an Engineering Operations Technician, where you'll be part of Earth's most customer-centric company. You'll work with front-line responders supporting some of the world's most powerful data centers, maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, essentially keeping the cloud running.

As an EOT, you'll collaborate with diverse teams including software, hardware, and network engineers, working on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. The role involves hands-on work with facility and rack-level operations, ensuring 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio.

Key responsibilities include driving innovation, managing contractors, performing maintenance on critical infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. You'll work with sophisticated systems and technologies while maintaining the highest standards for safety and security.

The position requires physical capabilities and may involve rotating shifts up to 12 hours. You'll be part of an inclusive culture that values diverse experiences and work-life harmony. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations

  • Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Drive projects with moderate complexity
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors and vendors
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
  • Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Work with ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations

Linux
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted
  • Physical capabilities: walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crawling
  • Ability to work rotating shifts up to 12-hours
