This role is crucial in maintaining the world's largest cloud computing portfolio, working in some of the most sophisticated and secure data centers globally. As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of the front-line team that keeps AWS data centers running 24/7.

The position combines hands-on technical work with critical infrastructure management. You'll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical equipment including diesel generators, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and various cooling components. The role requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll be working with complex systems while performing tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and other physical activities.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO)

  • Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing for change management
  • Monitor and resolve daily work requests
  • Provide on-site support for contractors and vendors

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO)

Linux
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical capabilities for ladder work, construction tasks
  • Ability to work in rotating 12-hour shifts
