Description For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for keeping the world's largest cloud platform running. As an Engineering Operations Technician, you'll be part of the front-line team maintaining and operating critical infrastructure in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers. You'll work with electrical systems including generators, UPS units, and PDUs, as well as mechanical systems like chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers.

The role combines hands-on technical work with monitoring and maintenance responsibilities. You'll conduct daily rounds, monitor building management systems, troubleshoot equipment, perform installations, and manage work requests. The position requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities, as you'll be working with heavy equipment and in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS)
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning
  • Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Technical writing to support change management program
  • Monitor daily work requests and manage resolution
  • On-site support of contractors and vendors
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts as needed

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Willingness to work in environments requiring ear protection
