Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an Engineering Operations Technician working in the world's most sophisticated and secure data centers. As part of Earth's most customer-centric company, you'll be responsible for maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems that power AWS's world-leading cloud computing portfolio. You'll work alongside front-line responders and bright minds from around the globe, helping to test and implement cutting-edge technology while ensuring 99.999% uptime.

The role involves hands-on work with data center infrastructure, including rack installations, facility management, and troubleshooting complex systems. Responsibilities For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management
  • Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Monitor maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Maintain data center critical infrastructure ensuring 99.999% uptime
  • Support basic concepts like ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management
  • Work in rotating 12-hour shifts with possible on-call rotations

Requirements For Engineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of electrical and/or mechanical experience OR 2+ years of data center experience
  • 1+ years of MS Office Suite experience
  • Ability to lift up to 39 pounds independently
  • Physical capabilities: walking, climbing stairs, working above shoulders
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts including 12-hour shifts
