AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Facility Operations Center Engineer to join their Data Center Global Services organization. This role is crucial in managing a newly developed Facilities Operations Center that provides 24x7 monitoring of data center physical infrastructure. The position requires understanding both data center IT Infrastructure and Facilities infrastructure, ensuring optimal customer experience through consistency, reliability, and attention to detail.
The role involves working in a large-scale data center environment, monitoring global infrastructure, handling emergency situations, and contributing to operational excellence. Responsibilities For Facility Operations Center Engineer, Facilities Operation Center
- Monitor the global data center Amazon facilities infrastructure platform
- Serve as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams
- Assist with the development of communication and escalation protocols
- Contribute to outage post mortem analysis
- Ensure records are updated in a timely manner
- Assist with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
- Assist with the development of tools that will enhance the team's performance
Requirements For Facility Operations Center Engineer, Facilities Operation Center
- Experience in Data Center Engineering/Operations or similar environment such as Technical or emergency Call center experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to maintain SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting tools
- Ability to support a 24X7 environment including weekends and holidays
