Description For Fire Protection Design TPM, Global Realty - Engineering

Amazon is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team as Fire Protection Design Manager. This person will own the fire protection design, strategy and initiatives for Amazon's Fulfillment Network across North America (NA) and Latin America (LATAM), and partner with global teams in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The Fire Protection Design Manager will report directly to the North American Global Realty Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own fire protection design, strategy, and initiatives across North America
  • Track key metrics and performance
  • Function as consulting subject matter expert (SME) to stakeholders
  • Build business cases and market building improvements
  • Work across the industry to understand trends and develop scalable technologies
  • Consult, problem-solve, and design building-level fire protection solutions
  • Develop solutions for hazardous materials, battery and battery storage systems, and other special hazards

The ideal candidate will have experience in fire modeling, egress modeling, smoke control systems, and the development of performance-based designs. They should also be competent in NFPA30 designs with experience in the design and protection of storage rooms and buildings for hazardous materials.

This role is part of the Global Realty Engineering (GRE) team, which is the single-threaded leader and owner for the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural (MEPFS) engineering and Enterprise Building Management System (EBMS) standards for all Amazon operations building types.

The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in the lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in the highest geographic market, with additional compensation potentially including equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.

Requirements For Fire Protection Design TPM, Global Realty - Engineering

  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years experience in Fire Protection Engineering and/or Design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams
