Project Kuiper, an ambitious Amazon initiative, is revolutionizing global connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Firmware Embedded Engineer in the MAC-SW team, you'll be at the forefront of delivering embedded firmware code for both ground networks and satellites, directly impacting millions of underserved communities worldwide.

The role combines cutting-edge satellite technology with embedded systems development, requiring expertise in real-time operating systems and bare-metal programming. You'll work with a diverse team of innovators, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of Kuiper-MAC firmware components.

The compensation is highly competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 based on location, plus additional benefits including equity and medical coverage. The role requires strong embedded systems expertise, with at least 3 years of professional software development experience. Responsibilities For Firmware Embedded Engineer, MPSW

  • Design, develop, integrate and bring up Kuiper-MAC FW components/drivers in real-time embedded environment
  • Work in cross-functional environment to define multi-dimensional performance requirements
  • Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet end-to-end use case requirements
  • Build component use-cases/test-cases and debug code in Kuiper embedded environment
  • Profile and execute code on RTOS and/or bare-metal embedded environment
  • Define, document, test and debug FW-HW interfaces

Requirements For Firmware Embedded Engineer, MPSW

Linux
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or admitted refugee/asylee due to export control laws
