Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced FPGA Development Engineer to join their expanding team in developing cutting-edge cloud infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software development, focusing on high-speed digital logic implementation using advanced FPGA technology.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with AWS's technology ecosystem, developing programmable logic on the most advanced FPGAs. You'll be part of a growing team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers based in Arlington, VA, with access to a dedicated product development lab. The role requires expertise in developing custom RTL, integrating third-party libraries, and building end-to-end 100G+ solutions.

As an FPGA Development Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, participating in architectural discussions and strategic planning. Your responsibilities will include debugging RTL in simulation, ensuring timing and performance requirements are met, and providing software examples for hardware interfaces. This position offers the opportunity to work on AWS-owned hardware solutions that scale globally and maximize value for customers.

The role requires a US Citizen who can obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. AWS offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,800 to $212,800 per year, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage.

Responsibilities For FPGA Development Engineer, Bespoke Solutions

  • Develop custom RTL and integrate with third party libraries to build end to end 100G+ solutions
  • Collaborate with design and system engineers to perform tradeoffs and architect new solutions
  • Own the interface between software and hardware by developing drivers and providing software examples
  • Participate in design meetings to plan development and review peer designs
  • Help identify new opportunities and new technologies to improve customer experience
  • Debug RTL in simulation, synthesize and implement ensuring timing and performance requirements
  • Deploy RTL onto hardware targets and debug issues in RTL, hardware, or software

Requirements For FPGA Development Engineer, Bespoke Solutions

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years developing programmable logic in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA SOCs
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
