Description For Front End Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). As a Frontend Software Engineer in this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating globally available distributed systems focused on controlling, managing, and monitoring Kuiper's terrestrial devices.

The position involves working with cutting-edge AWS technologies while adhering to industry-best software engineering practices. You'll be part of a team that owns the development of architecture, solutions, and roadmap for managing the complete customer lifecycle for telecom services. This includes working on critical systems such as identity and account management, subscriber management services, user provisioning, billing and payments, customer support tools, and analytics.

Key aspects of the role include active participation in product strategy and UI presentation, collaboration with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Designers to ensure optimal customer experience. You'll be responsible for designing highly functional and accessible UIs, implementing globally available distributed cloud architectures, and partnering with various engineering teams across device software, satellite, networking, and security domains.

The compensation is competitive, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus additional benefits including equity and comprehensive medical coverage. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking project that aims to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.
