Amazon Games Bucharest is seeking a talented Gameplay Engineer to join their expanding team of game development professionals. As part of Amazon Games' global studios network, including locations in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego, and Seattle, you'll be contributing to the creation of innovative AAA gaming experiences.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of game development, working with cutting-edge technology to create immersive gameplay mechanics and systems. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including designers, artists, and animators, to bring creative concepts to life. The position requires expertise in C++ programming and experience with game engines, focusing on developing and optimizing core gameplay features, AI behaviors, combat systems, and player controls.

  • Development and implementation of core gameplay mechanics and features
  • Development and implementation of prototypes and AI behaviors
  • Creation and optimization of combat systems, player controls, and game physics
  • Integration of gameplay systems with backend services and game engines
  • Collaboration with artists, animators and UI teams
  • Writing performant code and debugging complex gameplay issues
  • Mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance
  • Documentation of code and features
  • Improve production processes and enforce best practices

Requirements For SDE - Gameplay, Amazon Games

  • Non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience in C++ and with game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary)
  • Significant non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience with design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and existing systems
