Amazon Games Bucharest is expanding its presence alongside existing development teams in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego, and Seattle. As a Gameplay Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating immersive gaming experiences, working with cutting-edge technology and talented teams.

You'll be joining a company with a strong portfolio, including New World: Aeternum, an upcoming Lord of the Rings title, and publishing partnerships for games like Lost Ark, THRONE AND LIBERTY, and the next Tomb Raider series. Your role will be crucial in developing core gameplay features, implementing AI behaviors, and optimizing gaming systems.

Responsibilities For Gameplay Engineer, Amazon Games

  • Development and implementation of core gameplay mechanics and features
  • Development and implementation of prototypes and AI behaviors
  • Creation and optimization of combat systems, player controls, and game physics
  • Integration of gameplay systems with backend services and game engines
  • Collaboration with artists, animators and UI teams
  • Writing performant code and debugging complex gameplay issues
  • Mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance
  • Documentation of code and features
  • Improve production processes and enforce best practices

Requirements For Gameplay Engineer, Amazon Games

  • Non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience in C++ and with game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary)
  • Significant non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience with design patterns, reliability and scaling of systems
