AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Global Engineering Strategy team (GES) is seeking a results-oriented, inventive data center engineer to drive development, implementation, and delivery of enterprise data center strategies through AWS infrastructure builds. You will:
- Lead engineering due diligence efforts for new and expanding regions
- Work with Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, Design and Pre-Construction teams on global designs
- Assist in data center site selection, review due diligence reports, contribute to site planning and development
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase
- Lead the predesign phase and ensure design-ready deliverables are handed over to the design team
- Analyze major intercepts impact on site plans and strategy
- Work with International Utilities to understand HV/MV substation design and assess risks
- Provide engineering design decisions for strategic planning and region selection
- Collaborate with various disciplines to assess product deployment in different regions
Key skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Electrical/Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with industrial/commercial design or data center infrastructure and planning
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and deliver consistently
- Experience in domestic and international data center delivery
