Global Strategy Engineer, Global Engineering Strategy

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. The Global Engineering Strategy team (GES) is seeking a results-oriented, inventive data center engineer to drive development, implementation, and delivery of enterprise data center strategies through colocation facilities and AWS infrastructure builds.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading engineering due diligence for new and expanding regions
• Performing technical design engineering diligence for global regions
• Working with product teams on infrastructure roll-out plans for new AWS products
• Conducting PUE analysis and cooling solution analysis
• Preparing long-lead equipment for proposed build designs
• Supporting power and water teams with engineering analysis
• Collaborating with international utilities to understand HV/MV substation design
• Managing and reviewing site test-fits and site plans
• Providing engineering design decisions for strategic planning and region selection

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with clear communication skills, a consistent track record of delivery, and extensive experience in domestic and international data center delivery. They should thrive in a fast-paced environment, understand best practices for service-oriented product delivery, and be able to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
