Industrial Design Engineer, R2L Design

Amazon's Rural and Rapid Logistics Design team (R2L) is seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join their Design Engineering team. This role focuses on developing next-generation fulfillment, delivery, and transportation systems, specifically supporting the expansion of Rural Delivery and Sub Same Day delivery services. The position involves driving process engineering, building design, and standardization across Amazon's Last Mile delivery network.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as the Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing delivery and sortation networks while ensuring safety, customer experience, quality, and cost goals are met. The position demands someone who can evaluate options from basic to automated solutions, providing data-driven recommendations.

Key responsibilities include creating detailed technical drawings, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering fundamentals, experience in logistics or manufacturing environments, and expertise in CAD software. They must be comfortable with ambiguity and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $89,400 to $185,000 based on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity and sign-on bonuses.
