Description For Innovation Engineer, WW AMZL Innovation and Design Engineering

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is seeking an innovative Hardware Development Engineer to lead mechatronic product development for future Delivery Stations. As part of the AMZL Innovation Engineering team, you'll drive the development of new automation technologies, working at the intersection of robotics and logistics.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic planning, requiring expertise in mechatronics, robotics, and system integration. You'll work on projects from ideation through implementation, collaborating with multiple teams including Robotics, Software, Process Engineering, Operations, and Facilities.

Your responsibilities span the entire product lifecycle - from gathering customer requirements and developing prototypes to implementing solutions in the field. You'll validate designs through simulation, build business cases for new technologies, and ensure successful integration into AMZL's operations.

Responsibilities For Innovation Engineer, WW AMZL Innovation and Design Engineering

  • Support end-to-end equipment technology development through ideation, development, design, testing and implementation
  • Write requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
  • Collect customer needs and feedback from deployed technologies
  • Lead implementation of technologies fit-out studies across WW network
  • Define and track project timelines and manage project budget
  • Conduct regular progress reviews and reporting
  • Partner with simulation team for validating new ideas and concepts
  • Support supply chain team to build WW strategy for scaling technologies

Requirements For Innovation Engineer, WW AMZL Innovation and Design Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
  • Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems
  • Can design and build mechatronics systems to solve complex problems
