Description For Inside Plant Cabling Quality Assurance Engineer, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality standards of AWS data centers worldwide.

As a QA Engineer, you'll focus on fiber optic and optic components, cabling, and interconnect products. You'll work with engineering teams to develop global design standards, installation guidelines, and product specifications. Your responsibilities include conducting site audits, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires extensive knowledge in data center operations and quality assurance methodologies. You'll need strong communication skills to work effectively with technical teams and management. The role involves 40%+ travel to AWS data centers for project reviews and coordination with onsite personnel.

  • 3+ years of experience in QA methodology and tools
  • 3+ years of Data Center project management and/or engineering experience
  • 4+ years in fiber optic cable, optic components, cabling and interconnect products
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and engineering teams
  • Ability to work in stressful situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
