Description For Kuiper Payload System Characterization Software Engineer

Amazon's Project Kuiper is seeking a talented Build System and Tooling Software Engineer to join their Payload System Characterization (PSC) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite technology while developing critical tools and automation systems.

As a member of this team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining tools that are essential for the development and testing of Kuiper's satellite payload systems. You'll work with cross-disciplinary teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, develop automation tools, and integrate frameworks that enable large-scale embedded software development.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year, depending on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical coverage. Key responsibilities include owning system analyzer tools, creating data manipulation and simulation tools, and implementing developer-facing interfaces to streamline various processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional software development experience and 2 years of system design experience.   • Own and maintain the system(s) analyzer tools used by the PSP team
  • Own and create tools that help the generation and manipulation of data sets, simulations, and payload system configuration files
  • Implement developer-facing interfaces to automate manual tasks
  • Create and maintain documentation for developed tools, interfaces and test cases

Requirements For Kuiper Payload System Characterization Software Engineer

Linux
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee due to export control laws
