As a Lab Engineer in the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of bridging the digital divide by helping deliver high-speed, low-latency internet services to underserved communities worldwide.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic lab management responsibilities. You'll work with cutting-edge satellite technology, managing R&D engineering labs while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to design, integrate, and test innovative space-based and terrestrial systems. Responsibilities For Lab Engineer, KGS Integrated Systems Solutions

  • Document and assemble opto-mechanical, opto-electrical, electro-mechanical satellite assemblies
  • Manage R&D development lab spaces and equipment
  • Maintain lab operations, safety, and inventory
  • Execute and improve assembly, build, integration, and test procedures
  • Coordinate receiving and delivery logistics
  • Develop and document critical process mechanisms
  • Ensure quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of KGS product deliverables

Requirements For Lab Engineer, KGS Integrated Systems Solutions

Linux
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanics, Product Design, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline
  • 3+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on work experience in electro-mechanical, opto-electrical, opto-mechanical assembly
  • Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices
  • Experience in board level design verification and test
  • Experience with standard electronic lab test equipment
  • Experience operating heavy machinery and test chambers
  • Ability to lift up to 25-lbs unassisted
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
