Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Lab Engineer on the Kuiper Software Health Automation team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the infrastructure that enables software testing for both ground-based and space-based systems.

Responsibilities For Lab Engineer, Kuiper

  • Design, set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware
  • Create and maintain lab documentation
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues
  • Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation
  • Drive adoption of best practices in testbed maintainability
  • Manage equipment stock and procure lab equipment
  • Participate in lab on-call rotation
  • Provide lab services to remote workers
  • Provide technical support to lab users

Requirements For Lab Engineer, Kuiper

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable industry experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional IT experience in test lab support or operational hardware support
  • 2+ years experience organizing and maintaining stock of critical test equipment
  • 2+ years experience in project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee/asylee due to export control laws
  • Highly organized and autonomous, detail oriented and willing to learn new skills
