Responsibilities For Lab Safety Engineer

  • Leading EHS department at the location
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing risk reduction measures
  • Advising on occupational health and safety and environmental regulations
  • Influencing designs around machinery safety requirements
  • Implementing legal and Amazon internal requirements
  • Working with HR, Engineering, and Facilities teams
  • Ensuring compliance with California Occupational Safety and Health laws
  • Evaluating accidents and developing prevention programs
  • Supporting environmental regulations and programs
  • Creating a safe work culture

Requirements For Lab Safety Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in safety, engineering, or similar technical field
  • Knowledge of foundational machinery safety standards (ISO 12100, R15.06, ISO 10218, ISO 13849, NFPA79)
  • Experience in EHS field
  • Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
  • Technical expertise in preventive and corrective work
  • Qualifications or experience in environmental protection
